Only two months in and already my home is filled with baby stuff! Here are a few of my favorite baby products, tips and tricks.
I’ll start with the cutest nursing cover but it has a dual purpose; it’s a car seat cover as well! This has made my life so much easier to manage. All I have to do is pack one product and use when needed.
Here’s a picture of me wearing it:
And here’s a picture of it as a car seat cover:
I’m a breastfeeding only mama! At first I was having a hard time with latching and milk production but in a few days we were flowing. I really wanted to go all natural so boy was I thankful when everything worked out. Whew! What a relief.
So for the first couple of months I’ve been feeding her every 2-3 hours, more like every 2 hours. But this will change as she gets bigger.
When I don’t have time or know that we are going to be out for a while like at church or on errands, I give her a newborn bottle. The nipple is in the shape of a breast nipple so that she doesn’t start to reject mommy when its time to switch back and forth.
Fortunately, for me, this has worked out well. I pump milk that morning (the best time supposedly to get the most amount of milk supply) and put it in the refrigerator for whenever I will need it. Then I pack it into my diaper bag.
All these things I got at really discounted prices, woman in ministry prices lol. For anyone else that needs to stay on a budget I’ve included pics below and where you can find them too.
Another quick tip: I got my hubby a more manly looking bag for when he is out with her so he doesn’t have to carry polka dots!

Here are a few more breastfeeding supplies I love! Since this takes up the majority of my day these are must haves.
For a better milk supply I use this tea, its actually pretty tasty no need for sugar or honey. I found it at my local Whole Foods but it can also be found online.
The second thing I do is eat oatmeal to increase my production. I’m using this recipe while fasting. It is both good for you and tastes good.
- ½ recipe Cinnamon Baked Apples
- 2/3 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- 4 Medjool dates, pitted, chopped (about ¼ cup)
- 2 tablespoons chopped pecans
- Prepare Cinnamon Baked Apples as directed. When apples are done, cook oats on stovetop according to package directions. To serve, place ½ cup oatmeal in two bowls. Top with apples, dates, and pecans. Pour 2 tablespoons of apple juice over each serving, and serve immediately.
- Yield: 2 servings (serving size: about 1 cup)
- Recipe Notes
- Use figs or raisins instead of dates.
- Since you only need half of the Cinnamon Baked Apples recipe, you can store the other half in an airtight container in the refrigerator and use the following day.
And you can get a free breast pump with your insurance too! I sit this one by my bed and try to pump at least once a day preferably in the morning.
Here’s where you can sign up for a free pump: https://www.medelabreastfeedingus.com/breastfeeding-insurance
And here’s the pump I use:
And finally here’s my co sleeper:
My last tip, the Daniel’s Fast we are on right now has been a life saver! I have More Energy, I feel my immune system being able to fight off sickness easier (really important during flu season and with our unusually cold weather) and I noticed baby girl having less gassiness with an all natural vegan based diet. I supplement with Iron Pills (I always take with orange juice, talk to your doc about this first) when I am not eating meat (gives me more energy too, plus my favorite prenatal vitamins).
When I get more time I’ll try to come back on here to share about my stroller and the newborn-2 month baby schedule that gave me life!
Love you guys hope this helps some new or soon to be mama!
Maybe even a couple ideas for a veteran mama…
