What would you do if you knew the key to changing your life wasn’t human effort alone but fasting?  Join me in this 21 Waiting Women Daniels Fast.  

This fast worked for me! After 12 years of trying, I conceived a beautiful baby girl. And I know it is the key to other women’s success too.

I began asking Women Everywhere to Join me in 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting for the Month of January 2016 and you responded! We broke through in prayer for the entire month. We came back together at the beginning of 2017 and saw more breakthrough. Now we are on year four of what has become our Annual Fast where we Women Say No to Delay, you Fear, to Hindrance and Yes to God’s Promises Again!

Here’s what we prayed about then and will continue to focus on in 2019:

And now we are going to do it again!  Many of us are coming out of a joyful but also hard seasons of following the Lord without seeing the fruit we always desire or expected. We may be tempted to believe something is wrong, but we are assured that we are right where God wants us; that is why we are seeking Him together for clear vision and purpose.  We are determined to rise into our purpose with no hindrances. Heaven Has the Answers and We Will Get Them Together!

Waiting is hard. Sometimes we want, we crave, we need a breakthrough and we can’t seem to get it on our own. It could be in our finances, getting clarity of life vision, getting over our past, overcoming anxiety, a fight for our marriage, our health, favor at work, in our friendships, or with relationships.

I definitely can relate to needing breakthrough in every one of those areas, sometimes all of them at once!

And to top it off you might be getting a resistance to coming to the next level that you can’t put your finger on; that’s frustrating!

Are you done with calling friends, reading articles, going to support groups and doing everything else you can think of to become a better you but it doesn’t seem to work out?

Sometimes the only thing that will ultimately work is Prayer and Fasting!  We have to be Warrior Women who will not quit until we see it happen.

For 12 years I had one issue I couldn’t seem to talk away, cry away, pray away, get counsel through. All those things were temporary comforts but deep in my heart I know what really worked: Prayer and Fasting.

Sure, I had to make some major life changes. And; of course, once I got pregnant everyone else that had even given me an ounce of advice jumped on the bandwagon attributing it to themselves.

I was so grateful for people’s behind the scene prayers and in person words, but with healing your body (or any are of your life for that matter) what really works is your faith, your declarations, your fight, your dedication.

There is a power in you that no one also can replace. They can only supplement.

And sometimes it doesn’t just happen. You have to fight.

So there’s your pep talk.

This fast has been on my heart even after becoming a new mom. I am now a mom of two one year olds!

Now is the time for breakthrough, the season for deliverance and for each one of us to tap into the fullness of what GOD has for us; sometimes this requires both prayer and fasting. If we want to see all that GOD has for us actualized, there are blockages that can hinder us from receiving it in completion.

This is Biblically evident when reading through many accounts with Jesus and those He ministered to throughout His ministry. As believers, we want to follow His instructions and methods of reaching deliverance.

In one specific incident Jesus, after healing a young boy from being deaf and mute, His disciples inquisitively asked Him, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?” He told them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.” (Mark 9:28-29).

You see, there are times in which we can only see breakthrough as we pray and fast.
This is also confirmed as Daniel completes three weeks (21 days) of prayer and fasting.  He is visited and told, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel…for from the first day that you purposed to understand and to humble yourself before your GOD, your prayers were heard.  I have come because of your prayers.  But the prince of the kingdom of Persia opposed me for 21 days.”  (Daniel 10:12-13) 

Through this passage we can conclude that there are oftentimes spiritual hindrances to our prayer requests.  As Jesus revealed to us, we must both pray and fast to bring down certain barriers in intercession.

Both Jesus and Daniel were men of great devotion, consecration, fasting and prayer.  Jesus shares that He expects us to pray and fast. 

Daniel committed in his heart to not defile his self with the king’s meat (Dan. 1:8) and that is what we will do during this fast.  We will separate ourselves from any idols in our lives, knowing our GOD will reveal the deep and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells in Him (Daniel 2:22).

I began this fast to help me remove personal barriers such as praying for my future children and the removal of fertility blockages.  It is also a way for me to detox myself spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physiological as I start this New Year.  Will you join me in seeing GOD move through us and in us like never before?

What to Eat? Drink Lots of Water.  You can also begin eliminating foods from your diet a few days prior to the fast- such as heavy meat like steak.  Then gradually wean your way into more fruits and vegetables.

Pregnant?  Talk to your doctor before partaking in the Daniel’s fast.  Many women simply add fish an chicken to the fast for protein intake.

Vitamin Intake? Most vitamins are safe and compatible with foods in the Daniel’s Fast.  Check bottle label to ensure.

Planning?  Begin creating a meal schedule a few days ahead of time so your focus can remain on prayer, not on what you are eating.

Rest?  Practice resting your body, times of relaxation and activities you enjoy a week before the fast to prepare your body for a new change.


The Purpose of all Fasting is the Crucify the Flesh while Strengthening the Spirit.  We are all made up of three parts- Body, Soul and Spirit.  Our Spirit is Willing, but our Flesh is Weak.  In other words, our spirit wants to do what GOD desires and what is healthy for us, but our flesh says otherwise.

Our flesh is the part of our fallen nature that desires temptation and sin.  The Biblical solution to overcoming the flesh is to “watch and pray, so that you will not fall into temptation.” (Matthew 26:41).

As we are fasting and refocusing on GOD, He can give us peace as He sanctifies (sets us apart) completely, and our spirit is kept blameless before Him.  He cleanses us from the inside out of anything that would defile us. 

Our spirit is the part of us that returns to GOD when we die, it is eternal (Ecclesiastes 12:7, James 2:26).  During times of fasting we want to meditate on GOD’s Word and let it enter our spirit, revealing the thoughts and intentions of our hearts (Hebrews 4:12).



Humans are made up of three parts- body, soul, and spirit.  Our souls consist of our minds (thoughts), will (desires), and emotions (feelings).

As we fast and pray we are preparing our mind to come into alignment with GOD’s Word.  If we do not know what GOD’s Word or Will says, we are taking time to seek the Scriptures for truth, training our minds to agree with His Word.

Our desires are also being yielded to His, especially in areas we have become hardened due to emotional pain or traumatic situations.  This is a time to believe GOD for healing.

We are preparing for our emotions to be healed as we join together in daily prayer.
